So, fresh evidence that once again, our African American Secretary of State has been ostracized from the Bush Administration's Inner Circle, proving conclusively that the Trinity is Protestant (no celibate woman can claim to be part of the godhead). Yes, as you may have heard,
Rummy rolled his eyes as Condi spoke. It took our intrepid godhead a tad longer to finish their favorite game of "marginalize the minority" this time, perhaps because she's a minority squared, but make no bones about it: when Condi says, "Iran is not Iraq" you can safely ignore her. That's just typical State Department coddling of terrorists. You won't hear any such nonsense coming from the lips of any member of the Trinity. To us mere mortals, we see two words separated by differing final consonants, but in the divine language of kings, both are spelled with a single three letter word, and it rhymes with the material my hat is made of.
And by the way, shame on you reporters who insinuated the word "
tactical" had something to do with the military. Dr. Rice explained clearly that when she referred to "thousands of
tactical errors", not only had she meant the comment figuratively, she was using the word "not in the military sense." I'll leave it to my astute readers to determine how else one can interpret that word.
God Bless.

Actually, I can see what Rice is saying, and I think I even believe her. When she originally said that we had made a lot of tactical errors, many people interpreted that to mean military errors made by the people with their boots on the ground. For obvious reasons, this pissed off a lot of active duty troops, as well as veterans such as myself. There's nothing worse than some REMF who appears to be saying that the strategies concocted by the chairborne warriors in DC would have worked just fine if only the troops had executed them properly.
However, I think what she means by her clarification (it's never good when you have to clarify a clarification, is it?) is that she was using "tactical" in a more general sense, and was actually referring to errors in judgment by the war planners. As in, "not listening to military experts who told us we needed more troops in country to facilitate reconstruction was a tactical error." Or "disbanding the Iraqi army was a tactical mistake.")
Does that make sense?
Anyway, I don't know why I'm wasting my time. It's pretty obvious you drank too much Michael Moore/Susan Sarandon kool aid, and that you're so full of blind, irrational hatred for this President that you're unable to make any argument against him without resorting to ad hominem attacks bereft of any substance or merit.
Also, you and your kind refuse to acknowledge that there were legitimate reasons for this war because your blind, irrational hatred of the Administration doesn't allow you to let go of ridiculous, unsupportable claims that Americans were lied to by their government. I guess this is what the post-modern politically correct shackles of communist theory have done to the Democratic party: turned you into America-hating wimps who should all be rounded up and tried for treason for not supporting our Commander-in-Chief in this time of war. If it were up to me, I'd be on the phone to DHS right now, letting them know there's yet another commie blowhard who needs to be given a one-way ticket to Guantanamo Bay.
That's the American Way. Dig it or bounce.
:)
That was my compendium of all the criticisms of liberals I've been reading in this great bloggoshere we inhabit. It was refreshing to read you, since you don't traffic in it. Appreciate you reading, and thanks for your "tagging" code (stole it from your great site).
Regarding the substance of your comment, I think the answer here depends greatly on one's own point of view (to paraphrase Kenobi). I think what happened was that Dr. Rice was trying to inject a small amount of candor into her speech as a sign of good will. However, the obvious word choice, strategic, would have been far too damning. So instead, she chooses a word she believes to be a synonym, not realizing its true implications. I don't think this was meant to be an assault on the military per se, but an attempt to spread blame over a wide, indistinct area.
The right word to use was "strategic," but that would be admitting to mistakes, something the President has refused to do. We're saying the same thing, but I'm attributing an element of intentional deceit to the whole ordeal.
wow, so this blog contains both sides of an issue... is that allowed?
:)
Either way, nothing she says will ever top Bill Clinton's use of the passive voice: "Mistakes were made." Y'know, it's nobody's fault - mistakes were just made out of nowhere.
I was gonna ask you if you stole that tagging code from me: no-one else uses the word "taggers." (I altered it from "tags" in honor of the great Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap, who once described one of his guitars by saying "it's still got the ol' tagger on it,"
wait a sec, though: i'm using a greasemonkey script for firefox to add my tags. if you stole the code from a page source, do you have to manually enter it for each post?
if so, shoot me an email and i'll tell you how to make life much easier.
